Brush Fires in Stuart Result in Property Damage

The first fire started on March 12, 2014 and spanned a 115-acre area. What started out as a controlled fire by a professional clearing company eventually spread to an uncontrolled fire that led to road closures on both Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95.

Just three days after the first fire, another brush fire hit Martin County on March 16, 2014 and affected another 30 acres of land. Unfortunately, this second fire forced a handful of families to evacuate their homes due to flying embers.
